Here's what FAST say...

The Fenix 2.0 is here, and the best is now even better!

To improve our flagship enduro shock and make it even better than before, we wanted to add a very beneficial new feature and work on the form factor as well.

Controlling bottom-out events is always a challenge, in particular with coil shocks, and for that reason we decided to implement a Hydraulic Bottom Out system on the Fenix 2.0. The HBO system of our Ride series of shocks has already proven itself in the field, garnering great feedback from both amateur and professional riders alike, so all we had to do was to adapt it to the Fenix 2.0. Affecting the last 25% of the shock’s stroke, our HBO is based around a self-centering piston equipped with a release mechanism to avoid any risk of a “sticky rebound” as the shock extends after a big impact. There is also a shim stack on the piston itself that we use to tune the HBO to your requirements. Why is the HBO not externally adjustable? Because introducing a tunable orifice here would only allow for tuning low-speed bottom-out events, which would be quickly overwhelmed on harder impacts. Our shimstack HBO architecture is far more effective for providing a smooth and controlled bottom out feel in any riding scenario.

The rest of the hydraulics remain essentially unchanged on the Fenix 2.0, featuring our exclusive, triple circuit architecture with independent low-, mid-, and high-speed compression damping. Our Velocity Dependent Piston (VDP) provides unparalleled bike control and traction, while the independent climb mode circuit helps stabilize any unwanted suspension movement during climbing.

We also worked on the overall form factor of the damper head to make it more compact. We have reduced the width by 6 millimeters and moved the piggyback reservoir 3 millimeters towards the rear, and we have reshaped the Trunnion head as well. As a result, the Fenix 2.0 is now compatible with more bikes, like the Orbea Wild 2023-2024 for example. This also simplifies our product line-up as there is now only one Fenix head shape going forward. As with the previous version, the Fenix 2.0 is still supplied with its spring and mounting hardware.

The Fenix 2.0 benefits from our warranty extension program, which extends the original 2-year warranty for another 12 months after each yearly shock service for the lifetime of the product (service carried out by an accredited Fast service centre).

Specifications
  • 100% CNC 7075 T6 aluminium, anodized with PTFE impregnation to reduce friction
  •  Alloy shaft on the regular model, steel shaft used if shock is to be mounted on a bike featuring a shock yoke.
  • Piggy-back reservoir uses an internal bladder to reduce friction and temperature Viton seals for improved temperature resistance.
  • Velocity-dependent piston (VDP) = improved bike control and traction.
  • 3 independent compression damping circuits (Low-Speed/Mid-Speed/High-Speed) = control of every suspension event type.
  • Externally adjustable LS/MS compression damping, LS rebound damping.
  • Independent climb mode circuit (increased compression damping to reduce unwanted bobbing and suspension movement).
  • HBO – hydraulic bottom out, effective on the last 25% of the shock’s stroke.
  • Upgradeable shock absorber: change bikes but keep the Fenix.
  • Warranty extension program: get another 12 months warranty after each yearly service, for the lifetime of the product.
